v1.2 Bug Fixes & The Headline Showcase

Thanks to everyone who has provided initial feedback on Headline. We just submitted a revised version of the theme (v1.2) to the Theme Garden this morning, and those updates will automatically roll-out once approved.

A changelog page has been created and contains specific fixes for each version. The current version number of your installation is embedded in an HTML comment, available by viewing your site’s source code. If that previous sentence has you saying “Huh?”, just know that Tumblr will automatically update your installation to the latest version.

Finally, we really enjoy seeing what users are able to create using our customizable themes. Unfortunately, while Tumblr provides the number of people who have installed a theme, it doesn’t say who those people are, or provide any links to their sites. Privacy is great, but we want to showcase some nice examples of Headline out in the wild. So today we have begun accepting submissions for the Headline showcase, a collection of user-customized installations.

We’re looking for distinct colorways, solid use of typography, unique background imagery, and maybe even a little custom CSS. If you think you’re customization is the baddest, submit a link and tell us why, and be sure to include which custom features you used. We’ll be posting the best submissions to our showcase.
